Hidden Figures

What you will see in this film is women come together and support each other, not cat, claw, fight, and hate each other for one role. When you embrace each other and you stick together…look with these women were able to accomplish. The power in women sticking together, we will change the world. Until we get that we are going nowhere.”
-Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson couldn’t have said it better. When women come together as one, extraordinary things transpire. One woman alone can’t change the world but a surplus of intelligent women can.

Hidden Figures tells the stories of three phenomenal women, who fought, cried, and sacrificed to overcome obstacles that seemed impossible.

I couldn’t help but to shed a few tears during the movie, not at their hardships, but at the camaraderie among these women. To know no matter how many times you fail, or fall short of reaching your dream, that someone is always cheering for you is beyond comforting. It’s good to be your own cheerleader, but I think we all need and want someone else to cheer for us all the way to the finish line.

After the movie I walked out of the theater exuding confidence. If three women were able to follow their dreams despite adversity, racism, and double standards, we should all be fearless in the pursuit of our dreams.

When we as women come together, we denounce the stereotype that women can’t support each other. More importantly, we show young girls the importance of helping and building each other up.

I encourage every woman, young lady, and girl with a dream to go see Hidden Figures.
